The young man confessed to robbing because he didn’t have money to spend on New Year’s Eve

(PLO)- Having just been released from prison for property theft, a young man in need of money during Tet recklessly robs a bag for 9 million VND.

On January 27, Hoa An ward police handed over suspect Nguyen Minh Vuong, from Quang Ngai to Cam Le District Police, Da Nang to investigate the act of robbery.

According to the initial investigation, at noon on January 26, Ms. N in An Khe ward, Thanh Khe district with her family came to wish a friend’s house New Year’s Eve on Nguyen Cong Hoan street, Hoa An ward.

When Ms. N got off the car, Vuong suddenly ran a motorbike close, grabbed her bag and ran away. Inside the bag were 9 million VND in cash, iPhone 14, car keys and many identification documents.

After receiving the news, Hoa An ward police intervened and quickly tracked down and arrested the suspect Vuong.

At the police station, Vuong confessed that he had been in prison for stealing property. Just got out of prison, didn’t have a stable job, didn’t have money to spend on New Year’s holidays, so he was broke and went to rob.
