”L’Appel d’Angondje”, a group of political parties that took an active part in the work of the National Inclusive Dialogue (DNI) held in the north of Libreville last April, has, in a solemn declaration on Friday August 9, 2024 in Libreville, expressed its choice to vote yes in the referendum scheduled for the end of next December.
“Yes, we will vote and call for a yes vote in the referendum to open a new page in the history of our country,” said Joachim Mbatchi Pambou, president of L’Appel d’Angondje, also leader of the Forum for the Defense of the Republic (FDR).
For the former candidate for the presidential election of August 26, 2023, the positioning of his platform aims to support the transition process to ultimately achieve the organization of free and transparent elections to strengthen the still fledgling democracy in Gabon.
Visibly determined, the Call of Angondje said it was consistent with its political vision, that of supporting the vision and governance of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI, in power), led by General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who overthrew the Ali Bongo regime on August 30, 2023.
“We remain convinced that the yes vote will win and to support our call to vote yes in the referendum, the member parties of the Angondjé Appeal will undertake a national tour to invite the Gabonese people to support the draft of the new constitution, which has as its basis and reference the 1991 constitution.”announced Mr. Mbatchi Pambou.
