THE YELLOW MONKEYIt has been announced that the Nippon Budokan performance in Tokyo, which was scheduled to be held on December 28th, will be postponed.

According to the announcement on the official website, the Budokan performance will be postponed.Kazuya Yoshii(Vo, G) This decision was made because he was unable to adequately prepare for the singing. Yoshii was diagnosed with a polyp caused by inflammation in 2022, and following the tumor was rediscovered, he underwent surgery to remove it for the third time in October of the same year, and was diagnosed with early-stage laryngeal cancer in November. He immediately started treatment and was successfully cured by the beginning of this year, and recorded vocals for a new song at the end of July. Afterwards, in late September, he tried singing a number of songs as if they were live while the band was playing at a loud volume, but he was not satisfied with the performance. After looking at his subsequent diagnosis and progress, and following consulting with various authorities, it was determined that he was not sufficiently prepared to make a full comeback at this year’s Budokan.

The new song is scheduled to be released in November. The official website includes the words, “This is the first new song from THE YELLOW MONKEY in a while.”
