Star free agent Aaron Judge recently met with Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner — a meeting that left a good impression, according to general manager Brian Cashman.
Not only that, but the Yankees made a new offer to the slugger, different from the one offered before the start of last season.
“It’s happening in real time, so we’re on time,” Cashman said of the team’s efforts to re-sign Judge. “Certainly, we don’t want to ruin [el momento]. We have made another offer since the preseason”.
Judge turned down a $213.5 million, seven-year contract extension offer from the Yankees before Opening Day.
