In its May issue on newsstands, the association 60 million consumers tested 30 sausages, dry sausages and mini sausages on sale in supermarkets. At the end of these tests, the association highlighted those which are, according to it, the worst sausages on the market.
Sausages in the crosshairs of 60 million consumers
Whatever the season, all types of sausages are unquestionably the kings of the aperitif.
It must be said that the French are very loyal to them! In fact, industrial production in France amounts to more than 110,000 tons, according to the French Federation of Butchers, Caterers and Meat Processors (FICT).
But beware ! All sausages are not created equal! In effect, however, it is not uncommon to end up with a product that is too greasy, soft and bland.

The worst sausages
Meat quality, salt, nitrites, fats, proteins… The various tests carried out by 60 million consumers then made it possible to establish a ranking.
Thus, the survey reveals that all the products analyzed are fatty and too salty.
However, with two exceptions, all are « corrects » concerning residual nitrites and nitrates.

In this classification, the difference in place therefore depends mainly on the quantity and quality of the meat.
The dunce cap goes back to Carrefour’s pure pork dry sausages, which obtain a score of 11/20, according to Yahoo News.
Their low nutritional quality is the first explanation. Then, are added their quantity of lipids and salt.
Next, the investigation highlights Casino’s premium quality pure pork dry sausage and Carrefour’s Saucissons secs white products. These two products obtained the score of 11.5/20.
The best sausages
On the other hand, 60 million consumers still gave good ratings to certain products.
On the first step of the podium, we find organic dry sausages and sausages. More specifically, the Roches Blanches mini-sausages received a score of 15/20 thanks to their very good quality.
Also, the Biocoop dry sausage obtained a score of 14.5/20 and the pure organic pork dry sausage, 14/20.
