The world of writing to climb the mountain; Wayanad Literary Festival is getting ready

Satchidanandan described the festival coming to Wayanad, the land of pepper and snow, as the literature festival that Wayanad had been waiting for.

Kalpatta: Kerala Sahitya Akademi President and Eminent Poet K Satchidanandan performed the formal inauguration of the first Wayanad Literature Festival (WLF) website at Mananthavadi – Dwarka in the last week of December. Satchidanandan described the festival coming to Wayanad, the land of pepper and snow, as the literature festival that Wayanad had been waiting for. “It is sad that a place so rich in oral literature, especially with life expressed through a great woman writer like Valsala Teacher, has not yet had a good literature festival. That gap is where W.L. Satchidanandan said while launching the website. ‘The beak flying high is a symbol,’ W.L. Satchidanandan continued by mentioning the F logo. ‘ W.L. to constantly appear over the sky of Indian literature and world literature. F can,’ Satchidanandan added.

The Twitter page was officially launched by Tirunelli’s storyteller P Vatsala. Wayanad is a very beloved country. The novel ‘Nell’ was the result of the memories that the region gave me,’ says the author, recalling the old Wayanad days. ‘ It is very gratifying to have a literature festival coming there. Wayanad has never seen a literature festival organized in such a grand manner. My hope is that WLF will become a landmark festival that will put Wayanad on the literary map and history. Let the Wayanad Literature Festival become a festival like the Vallioorkavulsavam, which is taken up by the people of Wayanad,’ said Mithun Manuel, enthusiastically welcoming the arrival of the literary festival in his own land.

W.A.L. Eminent writer and novelist KR Meera inaugurated F’s WhatsApp groups. ‘For the first time in its history, Wayanad is becoming a venue for a big literature festival. Wayanad Literature Festival has the distinction of being organized for the first time in India by a Panchayat Sahityaolsavam. W.L. All the best for the first season of F,’ Meera’s words.

‘ Wayanad’s long-time wish is that W.L. F is made possible. W.A.L is a bridge connecting the hearts of literary lovers inside and outside Wayanad. F,’ says Dr Vinod K Jose, Festival Director and Executive Editor of Caravan Magazine.
