Pakistan Cricket Team Head Coach and Chief Selector Misbah-ul-Haq has asked the cricket world to do more for Pakistan.
In the press conference before the Pak-Sri Lanka ODI series in Karachi, Misbah-ul-Haq said that Pakistan or any other country, now anything can happen anywhere, we should continue cricket, the world should come to Pakistan. After playing cricket, fans here cannot be deprived of more action.
He said that it would have been good if Sri Lanka’s full strength team was here, but the team that has come is also better and can surprise the Pakistan team. The Lankan team is composed of young players.
According to the chief selector of the national team, the series against Sri Lanka is also a very important opportunity for young cricketers, the players will also give their hundred percent in the series, Pakistan will play full cricket in the series and hopefully the fans will get to see good cricket.
Misbah-ul-Haq said that this is an important moment for everyone as Pakistan is playing an ODI at home after a long time.
Regarding national team captain Sarfraz Ahmed, the head coach said that Sarfraz Ahmed has worked very hard, for the success of his captaincy it is necessary that he perform himself, all my support is with Sarfraz Ahmed and I hope that he will win the series. I will perform well.
He said that he supported Sarfraz earlier and still supports him, Sarfaraz has given good results as captain in the past, including winning Champions Trophy and being number one in T20, things are up and down. It will get better soon.
The head coach of the national team added that he encourages the players to play their natural game. An aggressive batsman will not be able to play if he starts ticking. What is needed is a strong Test team. Be developed, and that is their focus.
Misbah said that performance alone is not enough to come from domestic cricket to international cricket, players must tick different quality boxes after which they meet the international standards, it is hoped that the quality of domestic cricket will improve. That cricket will also be better.
It is not a good idea for fast bowlers to quit Test cricket: Misbah-ul-Haq
Misbah-ul-Haq said that in Australia, there was always a problem due to batting, but in the previous tour, the bowling was more worried than the batting.
To a question, the Chief Selector said that it is not good for fast bowlers to quit Test cricket because Test performance is always remembered, but now only a player can tell better how much workload his body can handle.
In response to a question, Misbah-ul-Haq said that the management of Mickey Arthur and Inzamam-ul-Haq also did good things, bringing in world-class players like Babar Azam, getting bowlers like Shaheen Afridi and Shadab. They have done good work, we will carry them forward.
It should be remembered that after Misbah-ul-Haq became the chief selector and head coach of the national team, this is the first series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka for which he has announced the team.
The Sri Lankan team has arrived in Pakistan and will play 3 ODIs in Karachi and 3 T20Is in Lahore.
The first ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the National Stadium on September 27.
