Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the World Green Economy Organization have announced that the theme for the eighth session of the World Green Economy Summit will be “Leading Climate Action through Cooperation: The Roadmap to Achieving Carbon Neutrality,” a translation of the UAE’s vision to advance climate action and strengthen international partnerships and efforts to achieve climate goals.
The summit, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on 28 and 29 September 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Center, will discuss areas of joint cooperation and the exchange of experiences and knowledge between relevant authorities and international institutions. and regional partnerships from the public and private sectors, to increase the momentum of climate initiatives and accelerate the transition towards a green economy.
The summit will be held this year in preparation for the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which will be hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt next November, and the twenty-eighth session of the conference to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates next year. The conference is the most important international event on the climate action agenda, and consolidates the UAE’s leadership and efforts in the field of climate action.
