The working hours of banks, the stock exchange, the post office, and the branches of mobile companies during Ramadan

Banks working hours

The Central Bank of Egypt has set the working hours of banks during the holy month of Ramadan, for a period of 4 hours per day, as working hours for the public are scheduled to extend from nine thirty in the morning to one thirty in the followingnoon.

For bank employees, banks are scheduled to start operating at 9 am to 2 pm.

Post office hours

The National Post Authority has set the morning period from nine in the morning until two in the followingnoon, and all main offices, postal kiosks and mobile cars in all governorates will work in the evening work until four in the followingnoon.

It was also decided that all postal kiosks, some post offices and mobile postal cars across the republic will work on Friday of every week, with working hours starting on that day from ten in the morning until four in the followingnoon, with the aim of reducing the crowding of citizens to post offices to obtain services, especially during blessed month of Ramadan.

Mobile branch working hours

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority applies the working hours of telecom operators’ outlets and the times for dealing with the public throughout the holy month of Ramadan, to be as follows:

Before breakfast:

• All days of the week: from ten in the morning until four in the followingnoon.

• Friday: from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

following breakfast:

• All days of the week: from eight thirty in the evening until eleven thirty in the evening.

• Thursday and Friday: from eight thirty in the evening until twelve in the morning.

The sales outlets of telecommunication service operators located in the commercial centers shall abide by the dates set in those centers.

Stock market timings during Ramadan

The Egyptian Stock Exchange announced the dates of the daily trading session on the Stock Exchange for the main market and the small and medium companies market (Nile Stock Exchange) from 10 am to 1.30 pm, preceded by the exploratory session from 9.30 am.

The closing price auction session dates are

– The closing price auction period is from 1.15 pm for a period of 10 minutes, provided that the auction session will be closed at a variable (random) time starting from 1.23 pm until 1.25 pm.

– The modification period is from the closing time of the auction session until the time of 1.25 noon.

– The trading session at the closing price from 1.25 pm until 1.30 pm exactly.

The timings for registering orders in the high-volume deals market are from 9.15 am to 9.30 am, and the corresponding orders are recorded from 9.30 am to 9.45 am.

The timings for dividing the combined accounts will be from 1.30 pm to 2 pm.

The trading session dates for unrestricted securities (the OTC market) are only on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week from 11.30 am to 12 pm.

The trading session timings for unrestricted securities (over-the-counter market) are from 9.30 am to 11 am.
