In Chad, the work of the inclusive national dialogue between the living forces, the politico-military groups and the authorities of the transition, will begin on Wednesday, two days later than the initial schedule.

“It is for organizational reasons that we have postponed the work. While waiting for Wednesday, we are in the meantime proceeding with the registration of the participants, the delivery of the kits and the completion of the establishment of the special security device for the politico-military,” the official told Anadolu Agency on Tuesday. spokesman for Chad’s transitional government, Abderaman Koulamallah.

Several times postponed, the inclusive national dialogue was opened on August 20 by the president of the transition of Chad, General Mahamat Idriss Deby in the presence of more than 1,400 delegates.

Two days following the launch of this inclusive national dialogue, General Mahamat Idriss Deby received in audience from the Reform Party, Yasin Abdelrahman Sakin, who stressed that he “works hard” to encourage all people on the margins of the meetings to participate. .

In his capacity as guarantor of the Inclusive and Sovereign National Dialogue, the Head of State “congratulated and encouraged them for having made a civic choice, that of participating in the foundations of the Inclusive and Sovereign National Dialogue”, underlined the Chadian presidency in a statement released on Tuesday.

This dialogue, which was initially to be held in February before being postponed several times, opens less than two weeks following the signing, in Doha, of an agreement between the Chadian junta and some forty rebel groups.

Mahamat Idriss Déby, who came to power in April 2021 at the head of a Transitional Military Council (CMT) in Chad the day following the death of his father, Idriss Déby, had promised to organize a dialogue with the civil opposition and army to allow, at the end of the transition, the transfer of power to civilians and elections within 18 months, renewable once.

“The inclusive national dialogue is sovereign” and its resolutions are “binding”, according to a decree signed on Wednesday August 17, 2022.

“The President of the Transitional Military Council, President of the Republic, Head of State, is the guarantor”, continues the decree.
