the wooded area of La Pachère being developed to create a place for walking in the heart of the city

During the Municipal Council of December 23, 2020, the elected officials had voted an envelope of 106,300 euros for the development of the Bois de la Pachère, a space located between the path of the mill canal and the Louts. The aim was to develop this natural space to make it an accessible place to walk and relax for the inhabitants of the Venice district and the city centre.

Preserve the wetland

Once the work is completed, this place will be linked to the Meuniers path, which runs along the Louts, classified and listed in the departmental hiking routes. Two footbridges built on piles are being installed. Access to the wood will be from the Venice subdivision by a small bridge over the river and from the industrial area of Piquette by a second pontoon set up on the mill canal. The path through the woods is made with wooden sleepers on stilts to preserve the wetland.

To finalize the facilities, educational signage will be put in place for a better knowledge of the fauna and flora that inhabit this environment. In fine weather, residents will have a very pleasant place to relax and stroll in the heart of the city.
