In doing so, Netflix shared a photo of Henry Cavill (Geralt), Freya Allen (Ciri), and Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) sitting in folding chairs by what appears to be an icy lake. The trio is obviously waiting to shoot a scene for the new season of the series inspired by the novels of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

The digital broadcaster also took the opportunity to present a first synopsis of the third chapter of the television saga.

According to this one, the new season will see Geralt take Ciri to a safe haven to hide her from “continental monarchs, mages and beasts.” [qui] compete to capture it. The two heroes will be led by Yennefer to the protected fortress of Aretuza, with the aim of “learning more about the maiden’s untapped powers”. The trio will nevertheless fall there rather on a “battlefield of political corruption, black magic and treason”.

In short, it’s not going to be easy for Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer.

In one blog post from Netflix, we also learn that this third series of episodes will be directed by Stephen Surjik (Reacher, The Umbrella Academy), Gandja Monteiro (Brand New Cherry Flavor, The Chi), Loni Peristere (American Horror Story, A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Bola Ogun (Raising Dion, Lucifer).
