Unsurprisingly, The Witcher: A New Saga Begins… should mark the beginning of a new saga. CD Projekt Red confirms that it is already considering several new games
CD Projekt Red is already working on its next big project following Cyberpunk 2077: The Witcher 4, which doesn’t have a real name yet and is in development under the working title The Witcher: A New Saga Begins. And as this title already suggests, it will not be the only new Witcher game.
Yes, it will be a new Witcher saga.
CEO Adam Kicinski has just officially confirmed this during a conference with investors. According to Kicinski, the new The Witcher is currently in pre-production – that is, in a fairly early development phase – while several sequels are already being considered:
We communicated that there will be a new saga. Of course, we are still in the pre-production of the first game of this saga. But we don’t just have a new game [Witcher] on your mind. The first saga was made up of three games in total, so we are currently considering more than one title. […]

What advantage this decision might have: Adam Kicinski does not give more details at this time. But the decision to consider several sequels might have a decisive advantage for the new Witcher saga.
For example, the very first The Witcher was still quite independent. It wasn’t until Assassins of Kings that story elements were designed to be picked up in a potential sequel (i.e. Wild Hunt). As a result, The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 come together much more organically, while the first installment is gladly forgotten.
A game saga designed from the start would have another decisive advantage: CD Projekt Red might use a concept similar to that of the Mass Effect trilogy for the new Witcher series. In other words, the decisions made in the previous installments might have repercussions on the plot of the sequels.
