Fewer stages but only big meetings, a relocated launch in Marseille, imminent online qualifications, a million guaranteed for the Grand Final… less than six months following Sébastien Lesoif’s coronation during the previous edition, he is It’s already time for the Winamax Poker Tour to hit the road once more.

And for this return to school, the WiPT is getting a makeover. The Tour remains this great celebration of French amateur poker, crisscrossing the four corners of the country to offer the best of them their entries for a Grand Final with a million euros guaranteed. Only the program is evolving for this 2023/2024 season, with a “condensed XXL” version of 11 maxi-stages spread from October 28 to March 9, going from Marseille to Paris via Lille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Grenoble and even Caen and Poitiers. But these are not the only developments awaiting Winamax players.

It was a tradition more than ten years old. Each new edition of the Winamax Poker Tour opened with a giant gathering of 2,000 people under the roof of the Grande Halle de la Villette. This year, for the first time in its history, the largest amateur poker tour in France will have its big kick-off on October 28 and 29, in Marseille, within the Parc Chanot.

1,500 people are expected and for the party to be complete, the players will be accommodated in the same boat as in Paris, with no less than three additional tournaments (Shootout, 6-max and 8-max) and a host of entertainment planned over two days. Masterclass from Team Winamax Pros, Winamax TV shows shot live, VIP Boutique and even Bongo Loco.

The regional stages will then follow and here once more, the Winamax Poker Tour cannot neglect the many players from the Paris region, who will also have the right to something new. On Saturday and Sunday March 9 and 10, the City of Lights will host a second stage of 1,500 players, twin to the one organized in Marseille. Appropriately subtitled “Last Chance”, it will appear as a curtain raiser for the Grand Final, which will be held immediately from March 11 to 17.

Given the incredible success last year of the stages of 600 players, which often attracted more than 700, the other regional stages saw their cursor rise to 800 entrants. The opportunity to mingle with several hundred, even several thousand, enthusiasts and play in optimal conditions… perhaps even for the first time.

Their number increases from six to nine, in order to distribute them throughout the territory. The Tour caravan will meet all its players, from November 11 to February 3, in Lille, Nantes, Bordeaux, Nancy, Grenoble, Poitiers, Caen, Clermont and Toulouse.

The direct consequence of this change in calendar is the disappearance of small stages on a day of 120 players. Instead, everyone will be able to fully experience the WiPT experience close to home for an entire weekend, with two Side Events to refresh their skills, Sit&Gos (always 100% free), a boutique to do their shopping , and the systematic presence of two Winamax Pros, who will host a unique Masterclass every Sunday. As in previous years, these eleven stages will distribute nearly 200 precious “Golden Tickets” worth €500.

Added to this are those reserved for overseas players (Réunion, Mayotte, Mauritius, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Guyana). A series of eight freerolls will be posted online soon, with prize packages for the Grand Final.
