The Wildest Burgerkill Energy at Hammersonic Festival 2023 First Day

Jakarta

The first day of the Hammersonic Festival 2023, Saturday (18/3/2023) makes the Indonesian metal band the pride of the plenary. Is Burgekill and a tribute to the late Eben.

Focusing on hospitality and education, the first day of the 2023 Hammersonic Festival had minimal musical performances compared to the second day. Presenting talk show programs and award nights.

It was at the Hammersonic Awards that Eben was awarded the highest Lifetime Achievement award. The award was received by his wife, Bubu Anggi Pratiwi, and Burgerkill personnel, Agung Hellfrog.

“Thank you very much for the award and respect. Thank you also to all the big Burgerkill family, a big thank you to the Begundals, who are still encouraging us to this day. This is hard for all of us, but hopefully the spirit of the deceased can we all continue,” said Bubu on the Hammer stage, Carnaval Ancol, North Jakarta.

“Eben is not only a friend, but a friend, brother, sister, mentor and gives a lot of meaning to all of us. Moreover, for his dedication to extreme music,” continued Agung Hellfrog who spoke on behalf of his friends in the band.

Apart from Eben, the Deadsquad group also took home the trophy. The band singing IL SOGNO was rewarded with the Best Album award for Catharsis and Best Metal Performance. “Jaya… Jaya… Jaya” echoed when Stevie Item joked regarding the Prediction motorcycle group to the audience.

Feelings of emotion enveloped the main stage, Hammer and Sonic, which were installed side by side. Until a moment later, Burgerkill took the stage, killing all the longings of the metalheads or hammer heads who had taken a break due to the pandemic.

The perfect Burgerkill treat is amazing. Thousands of people piled up enjoying the thumping drums and deafening distortion. That typical mosh pit and wall of death scene happened once more.

The Inner Prison, Shadow of Sorrow as well as his newest song, Roar of Chaos were played. Even though he didn’t have much time to perform, around 45 minutes, Begundal—as his fans call it—is content with mosh pit fun.

“Thank you for your wild energy tonight,” said the vocalist, Ronald.

Indeed speaking of energy, Burgekill managed to suck up everything to enjoy them. Wild, brutal but still take care of each other.

In fact, it doesn’t feel like an exaggeration if tonight’s closing act, the thrash metal group, Vio-Lence, has to perform with a smaller audience. The line of black shirts that had piled up earlier gradually left the arena as the band from the United States took the stage.

Even so, Vio-Lence didn’t care and continued to launch its noisy distortion attacks. Until finally, the first day of the Hammersonic Festival 2023, is really over.
