The Wildberries building in Shushary (Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg), which burned down on January 13, was not insured, reports January 19 RBC with reference to its sources in the insurance market. According to one of them, only the goods were insured.

“The company discussed concluding an insurance contract with one of the large insurance companies shortly before the fire, but it never came to the point of signing,” says one of the interlocutors.

Wildberries said that “they cannot disclose information about property insurance within the framework of existing contractual relationships.”

“The issue of insurance does not affect our obligations to partners in any way,” added the Wildberries representative.

On the afternoon of January 18, Wildberries reported searches in its office in Moscow and connected them with Shushary. According to Fontanka, investigators, in particular, were interested in the question of why the building was used without permission to put it into operation. Read more about this on Fontanka.
