The well-known curator Danielis Marzona, who had special ties with Lithuania, died in Berlin  Culture

D. Marzona was born in 1969. in Bielefeld, in the family of gallerist and publisher Egidio Marzona. He studied art history and philosophy. 2001-2004 worked as a curator at MoMA PS1 museum in New York.

in 2004 together with Elena Carlini, he founded the Navado Press publishing house, and from 2007 to 2014 managed the Konrad Fischer Gallery in Berlin.

in 2014 Marzona finally opened his own gallery on Friedrichstrasse in Berlin, where he represented artists such as Olaf Holzapfel, Sofia Hultén, Axel Hütte, Mischa Kuball, Bernd Lohaus and Magnus Plessen.

in 2017 The exhibition “The End without End” by the artist Vajikas Chachkhiani, curated by D. Marzona, was presented in the Vilnius gallery “Vartai”, and in 2018 the exhibition curated together with other authors – “Four rooms with a view”.

According to the representatives of the gallery, this loss is painful not only for the “Vartų” collective, with whom D. Marzona had a long-term friendship and close relationship, but also for the entire community of lovers of contemporary art in Lithuania, in whose lives this German curator left a very bright mark.
