Rejected by a majority the prosecutor’s proposal to the competent judicial council for the release of the lawyer Apostolos Lytraswho had been temporarily detained following violating restrictive conditions imposed on him for beating the wife of Sofia Polyzogopoulos, as a result of which he remains in custody.
The judicial council by a majority vote of 2 to 1 rejected the prosecutor’s proposal of Giorgos Polykratis to release the criminologist with restrictive conditions (electronic bracelet, no contact with his wife, etc.).
It is recalled that Apostolos Lytras had filed on June 28, 2024 an application requesting the replacement of his temporary detention (i.e. the warrant with which he was taken to Korydallos), arguing that he had not violated the conditions imposed on him by the investigator with an agreement prosecutor’s opinion following his confession, that is, of not communicating with the victim and moving out of the house they lived in until then.
He also stated that he is not suspected of fleeing.
