The Weeknd never stops breaking records.
Another record for the Canadian.
For those who have any doubts regarding the impact of The Weeknd on current music, know that the Canadian has just equaled a record hitherto held by Michael Jackson. No more no less… Like the King of Pop, he became an artist with Billboard number one hits from several different albums. According to figures from Chart Data, they are also the only two to have achieved this feat in the history of the Hot 100, the ranking of singles sales. Michael Jackson had #1 hits from his albums, 1979’s ‘Off The Wall’, 1982’s ‘Thriller’ and 1987’s ‘Bad’. “Beauty Behind The Madness” in 2015, “Starboy” in 2016 and “After Hours” in 2020. He was number one once more on Monday March 6 with his remix of the title “Die For You” with Ariana Grande.

Earlier this year, the Canadian singer broke the record for the most global monthly listeners in Spotify history with 94.734 million. This brand was previously held by Ed Sheeran with 82.40 million. In the top 5, we also find Justin Bieber (81.43 million), Taylor Swift (81.21 million) and Ariana Grande (77.18 million).
In a similar vein, The Weeknd made Billboard history with the release of “Dawn FM” in 2022. With six songs from that record on the Global 200 chart, he had 24 in all on the chart’s 200, all simultaneously. He thus overtook Kanye West with 2″ and Drake who counted 22. In addition, Abel Tesfaye also achieved the very rare feat of having two albums in the top 10 of the best-selling albums chart. ” Dawn FM” was No. 2 while “The Highlights” of 2020 was No. 6.
