The week of miracles begins. Both Linkin Park and Oasis are (probably) returning to the scene. Will they also play in the Czech Republic?

The prayers of the fans have been answered, and after years of speculation, we will probably find out this week what the future of the legendary bands Linkin Park and Oasis will look like. Both groups announced last weekend that they would finally comment on their future. What can we expect from them?

We’ll start with the former kings of nu-metal. After Bennington’s death in 2017, they disappeared from the scene for good after several memorial concerts with guests. Almost all former fans agreed that Chester is irreplaceable. But as time goes by and maybe the money starts to run out, suddenly you can continue to play concerts without the central figures, which is currently proven by, for example, The Prodigy without Keith Flint or Faithless without Maxi Jazz. Not to mention the rock legends from the last century who tour the world with perhaps only one original member. But Linkin Park kept silent for a long time, and Mike Shinoda persistently refused to return in all interviews for the solo record “Post Traumatic” and after it. The band gradually released previously unreleased rarities with Chester’s vocals, from which such as “Lost” and “Friendly Fire” became regular new hits, as well as expanded anniversary editions of the breakthrough records “Hybrid Theory”, “Meteora” and “Minutes To Midnight”. . However, it seems that instead of continuing to dust off history, we are now in for a worldwide tour. Billboard magazine was the first to speculate about him. According to his sources, the concert series will bring a slightly different composition of the group than what fans would expect. Of course, rapper, singer and main creative brain Mike Shinoda, guitarist Brad Delson and bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell should return. But whether drummer Rob Bourdon and DJ Joseph Hahn will join them is uncertain at the time of writing.“;$(this).parent().parent().html(tmpo);return false;”>

The main question remains who will replace the deceased Bennington. According to the aforementioned Billboard, it should be a singer, not a singer. Fans have already commented that it would make sense to them with Evanescence’s Amy Lee calling the idea “awesome”, but at this point it can still only be considered very wild speculation. In any case, the fact that on website The formation is currently running a countdown for the first time since Bennington’s death. And Shinoda also commented on various speculations some time ago by saying that as soon as they have something to announce, it will appear on the group’s official website. The countdown should end Wednesday afternoon. And that’s not all – Wednesday, August 28th is the date when the German rock festivals Rock am Ring and Rock im Park plan to add a bunch of other bands to the already announced headliners Slipknot, among which some of the main stars will certainly appear. And since Linkin Park had very warm relations with these events in their heyday and it was a mutually beneficial cooperation (read our report from Rock am Ring 2014, where they played then), their stop at these festivals can be considered complete thing. But an even wilder idea is whether the Rock for People festival in Hradec Králové, which is preparing for its thirtieth anniversary, could also have similarly favorable news for Czech fans. In recent years, he has largely copied the German pair with his program, he also takes a little from the Austrian Novarock and announces a large part of the program on the same or very similar dates as his competitors taking place almost at the same time. Moreover, in several posts on Facebook, the organizers indicated that they will announce the first names “at the end of the summer”. So there is a chance, and not a small one. It just has two “buts”. First – Linkin Park will be extremely expensive. And secondly – with similar comebacks, it is common for concerts to be announced first in, let’s say, more lucrative locations (like London, Paris, New York) and only in other parts of the line, maybe a year later, will it also reach smaller countries. Exclusivity gradually decreases and prices go down. Therefore, the return of Slipknot may not be out of the question, as they would replace for RfP fans this year’s concert of frontman Corey Taylor, which was canceled at the last minute. Let’s wait and see. As for Oasis, disbanded since 2009, it can be very similar to Linkin Park with their upcoming concerts and specific stops. Liam Gallagher has already made a few hints in the media and on social networks, in addition, he is currently touring the world with a program commemorating thirty years since the release of the Britpop Bible “Definitely Maybe”, with which he also stopped at Sziget in Budapest a few days ago. This past weekend, Liam performed at the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals, and before launching into “Half The World Away” at the former, he dedicated it (with no hint of irony!) to his brother, which is totally unheard of. Shortly after the show, which took place on the last day of the event, a date appeared on the screens in graphics associated with Oasis, indicating Tuesday, August 27 at 8:00 am (or 9 am our time). We can now find the same date on his social networks. His brother had not yet responded to such messages, until now. It didn’t take long for the same to appear on Noel’s Facebook. Of course, it could still turn out that the pair are merely teasing the release of an expanded edition of the famous debut, which awaits us on Friday, August 30, but it’s highly unlikely. Many of the world’s media are already reporting the return of Oasis as a done deal in these hours. All that remains is to confirm when and where it will take place. A few shows in London and Manchester, possibly even headlining Glastonbury, are almost certain for now. But we can only keep dreaming about the concert here.“;$(this).parent().parent().html(tmpo);return false;”>

Fans of both formations can almost pop the champagne. Finally, it looks like they really got it. Now we just have to hope that both comebacks will be successful and the musicians will endure them with honor. Update 8/27: News from both camps continues to flow in the last few hours, currently there is an announcement on Sum 41 social networks announcing information regarding Deryck Whibley on Wednesday. With his parent group’s final tour, will he be Linkin Park’s new lead singer? We’ll find out soon!
