The water supply was normalized in the city of Córdoba and the company analyzes specific cases

More than 160,000 users of the drinking water service in the southern area of the city of Córdoba experienced a difficult long weekend, following being left without service due to a broken pipe at the Los Molinos plant. With the passing of the hours, and following the repair of the pipeline, this Sunday calm returned with the normalization of the supply.

Aguas Cordobesas, the company that provides the service, reported on Saturday followingnoon that it had begun to recharge the conduit, and that the supply would be normalized on Sunday morning. In the first hours, some users noticed some turbidity in the liquid element, but the concessionaire maintained that the water complied with all the quality parameters that ensure its drinkability.

Notwithstanding this, some clients complained through social networks that they still lacked the service. The company said that it would analyze each particular case, beyond the possible occurrence of clogging following the drying of the pipes.

The Aguas Cordobesas customer area reported that 41 users had filed claims through 0800-800-2482 or through social networks, mainly from the San Vicente and Altamira neighborhoods.

Ersep report

The Regulatory Entity of Public Services (Ersep) reported this Sunday that the inspectors of the Water Management will submit a report to the Agency’s Board of Directors in the coming days on the actions of Aguas Cordobesas during the repair work on the damaged pipe.

Ersep must analyze whether the concessionaire company provided a quality service to users during the repair of the pipeline. If this were not the case, an economic sanction might eventually apply or the order to apply discounts on the tickets of the affected residents.

Repairing the affected pipeline was difficult, since the leak was located in a field that had been flooded as a result of recent rains.

“The most complicated part was prior to the repair of the pipeline. The repair was in a flooded area, then we had to find the leak point to finally change the damaged aqueduct, ”he said. The voice Cristina Barrientos, company spokeswoman.
