The watch industry in search of qualified personnel

The announcement of the creation of a production site for the Rolex group in Bulle, revealed by RTS on Monday, with the key to creating 2,000 jobs in 2029, raises a number of questions, particularly in terms of recruitment and training. The news came at the same time as the publication, by the Employers’ Convention of the watch industry, of a survey on staffing needs in the sector until 2026. This report shows that there are 3,835 new professionals who will need to be trained in the next five years to compensate for retirements (2,369) and the new needs of this growing sector (1,466). In total, the watch industry currently employs more than 57,000 people.
