It’s a well-established tradition in the NBA and in many other American sports for that matter. The winner of the last championship comes to visit the White House and receive the praises of the American president. A ceremonial visit which had experienced a break during the mandate of Donald Trump. In open conflict with several NBA stars (Stephen Curry and LeBron James in particular), in particular because of his political positions, the POTUS had not received any visits. Not from the Warriors, not even the Raptors.
His departure in 2020 had made it possible to reinstate the tradition, even if the Lakers had not been able to come due to COVID. The Bucks of Giannis Antetokounmpo had been received in November 2021 following their coronation. Now it’s the turn of Stephen Curry’s Warriors. Joe Biden has already crossed paths with the Warriors in the past. As Barack Obama’s vice-president, he was present during the passage of the champions following their 2015 title. It is this time with the great costume that he will honor Stephen Curry and his band. The Chef was also delighted to return to the White House and to be able to celebrate the title one last time.

The Warriors will go to the White House in ten days to meet the POTUS and celebrate the 2022 title one last time. What will probably motivate them a little more to achieve the back-to-back this season.
