Six days following the inauguration of Javier Milei, The Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP) presented its new authorities this Monday together with the leadership of the CGT and the CTA, in a “gesture of unity of the entire working class” to confront the proposals of the elected government, which proposes “deregulating the economy and work.” There, they warned: “We are going to be the first to be on the street if they want to touch the rights.”

The ceremony for the change of authorities of the UTEP was held in the historic Felipe Vallese room at the CGT headquarters. On stage, the elected general secretary, Alejandro “Peluca” Gramajoand other of the new authorities from the unit list called Celeste and Blanca for Tierra Techo y Trabajo accompanied the leaders of the CGT and CTA, such as Pablo Moyano, Héctor Daer and Hugo Godoy.

“We are going to be the first to be on the street if they want to touch the rights”assured Moyano regarding the proposals promoted by the future administration through the set of laws called omnibus that, according to Moyano, “many are to shit us workers”. The co-secretary general of the CGT held “this meeting that is the beginning of unity that will also take place in the street” and proposed a dialogue with the governors “Let’s see what they are going to do when they start to squeeze them and they have to choose whether they are with the workers or with the business owners”.

Pablo Moyano: “Today not only Macrism governs us once more but also Menemism”

“A few years ago we were in the streets once morest Mauricio Macri’s labor reform and Today not only Macriism governs us once more but also Menemism“, considered Moyano.

In that sense, the general secretary of the Autonomous CTA, Hugo “Cachorro” Godoy, expressed that the future proposed by the libertarian proposals “is more of the worst of our past and They have nothing new to offer society“.

Furthermore, as detailed TelamGodoy postulated that the call was a “gesture of unity of the entire working class in the tragic moment we are going through” and highlighted the need to reinforce the “commitment so that we are not divided by this throwaway capitalism that wants to ignore workers as actors in society.”

Héctor Daer: “Let this omnibus law not be the bus that passes us workers by”

Along these lines, in his speech, the co-head of the CGT Héctor Daer indicated: “We are here together ratifying that There are no first-class workers and second-class workers” because they are unionized or not. and highlighted that organizations “know the role we have in society and when we organize we do so to advance and not allow them to advance on us when conditions are adverse.”

Daer proposed that “this omnibus law is not the omnibus that passes over us workers”. He also praised the meeting because “it shows that here there is no confrontation between formality and informality because we all want, beyond the employment relationship, for it to be established with decent work and rights,” he considered.

“We are going to be in solidarity with all sectors”

For his part, the UTEP leader assured that “In the coming Argentina, unity will be fundamental” and called for “not to get angry with the people when they teach us”in reference to the result of the runoff in which the Javier Milei-Victoria Villarruel formula triumphed over the Unión por la Patria duo made up of Sergio Massa and Agustín Rossi.

We will not be able to recover the government once more if we do not self-criticize because we believe in a different country project and no political situation can divide us,” said the elected general secretary. Likewise, he highlighted the “political creativity to solve problems” that arise from popular organizations and confirmed that “beyond that politics and Justice don’t like it, there we are going to continue demanding shelter, land and work.
