First observation made by the drought cell this followingnoon: the levels of our dams continue to drop. Result: 18 municipalities now impose a restriction on water consumption.
Five other municipalities are subject to special surveillance.
Waterways under surveillance
The other concern concerns waterway flows, which are still falling. Navigation remains possible for the moment, but measures are being prepared if the situation deteriorates.
Fishing and fires still prohibited
The drought unit also recalls the fishing ban extended until September 4 in the areas concerned. For fires, they remain prohibited in all provinces of the country.
It has been three weeks since a single drop of rain has fallen in some areas today. According to experts, the forecasts are not reassuring. A new meeting is scheduled for next Thursday.
