“The Walking Dead”
So it continues in part two of season eleven
Part two of the eleventh season “The Walking Dead” starts on February 21st. What will the penultimate chapter of the series have to offer?
It’s been there since 2021, the beginning of the end of the zombie series “The Walking Dead”. With its 24 episodes, the final eleventh season is so extensive that AMC decided to split it into three parts of eight episodes each. The second momentum is now starting as a German premiere on the night of February 21 on ProSieben Fun, shortly followingwards episode nine can be streamed on Disney+ (via Star). Here’s an overview of what loyal fans of the series can expect.
Who once morest who? Warning, spoilers for the season 11 part one finale
Even following the events of episodes one to eight, the Reapers remain a serious threat. Their leader Pope (Ritchie Coster, 54) died, but Leah Shaw (Lynn Collins, 44) of all people seemed to take control of the devious group at the end of part one of the eleventh season. And with it a grudge once morest Maggie Rhee’s (Lauren Cohan, 40) group. Not a good omen for her tender love affair with series cult figure Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus, 53)!
But another group is also increasingly positioning itself, which viewers have known sporadically since season ten: the Commonwealth. In a clip for the new episodes it becomes clearthat might not be trifled with with the top organized community. In the comics, the Commonwealth counts around 50,000 survivors.
It’s the post-apocalypse structure that comes closest to pre-zombie plague. With sporting events and concerts in stadiums – and its own army. And it’s not only there to ward off potential enemies, but also to keep your own followers in check. Because the Commonwealth is reminiscent of a feudal monarchy and class system, headed by Governor Pamela Milton (Laila Robins, 62). And if there’s one thing “Walking Dead” fans have known since season three, it’s this: don’t trust a governor.
When is the real final?
An exact start date for the final eight episodes of “The Walking Dead” has not yet been set. But they should definitely be released in 2022. Of course, fans are also hoping that Andrew Lincoln (48) as Rick Grimes and Danai Jekesai Gurira (44) as Michonne will do the honors once more – but AMC would like to keep such a comeback to itself.
There will definitely be a reunion with Lincoln, the star has signed for several “Walking Dead” films. And there will be enough zombie fodder in the foreseeable future, despite the end of the main series. Spin-off number one, “Fear the Walking Dead”, is still running. In addition to “Tales of the Walking Dead”, an offshoot was also announced, which is said to revolve entirely around the favorite duo Carol (Melissa McBride, 56) and Daryl (Reedus).
