The Voice: Coaches Corneille and Mario Pelchat Return for Season 10 with New Additions

2023-07-10 22:45:00

Coaches Corneille and Mario Pelchat will be back for the 10e season of The voiceunlike Marc Dupré and Marjo, who will be replaced by singer-songwriters Roxane Bruneau and France D’Amour.

The news was confirmed on the set of Sweety saltyMonday evening, while Mélanie Maynard received Roxane Bruneau.

For the second time – he was also absent during the sixth season – Marc Dupré will not take his place in his red chair, he who has decided to return to one of his first loves, humor, a medium having revealed to the general public. Marc will present a new show called Oh come onnext year, which effectively prevented him from taking part in The voice.

Marjo had already announced his departure from the QMI Agency on June 22 following only one season. France D’Amour, who replaced her at short notice when she contracted COVID-19, officially becomes a coach. The one who had also been a mentor for Marc Dupré’s team in 2014 will therefore not spend the winter in Florida. The 57-year-old rocker rose to fame in 1992 with her debut album, Animal. She has a total of 12 opuses to her credit and a host of hit songs that we still enjoy humming.

Host Charles Lafortune and France D’Amour last March on the set of La Voix, when the singer-songwriter had replaced coach Marjo, who had contracted COVID-19.

Roxane Bruneau completes the quartet of coaches, which is back to parity, with two women and two men. The 32-year-old singer had piloted The second voice on TVA+ last winter. With her two career albums, the one who twice won the title of female performer of the year at ADISQ “fulfills a dream” by being officially admitted to the big club.

Corneille, 46, and Mario Pelchat, 59, multiplied relevant comments with generosity and sensitivity last winter. The two coaches become veterans in the absence of Marc Dupré, and will be in their second consecutive season at The voice in 2024. Remember that it was Mario Pelchat’s protege, Sophie Grenier, who triumphed at the end of the most recent season.

Return of Charles Lafortune

Charles Lafortune, who has been in charge of the show since the beginning, in 2013, will of course resume service. It is in the running for the prize for the best animation special program or series: variety or performing arts for the 38th Gémeaux awards.

Pre-auditions

Note that the pre-auditions of The voice are in class. The process takes place entirely on line until August 3. All the details can be found here.

Produced by Productions Déferlantes, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, The voice will be back every Sunday, next January, on TVA.
