Indeed, the vice-president of the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Pape Amghar Dieng, died a few hours following the success of the Mourabitounes, confirmed the FFRIM. He was also president of the National Football League of Mauritania.
Pope Amghar Dieng was in Algeria to accomplish ” a noble patriotic duty in the service of the national team, as a member of the delegation accompanying the local national team in its participation in the African local championship in Algeria”said the FFRIM.
