The sudden death this Saturday of the former Minister Delegate in many governments of the former deposed president, Ali Bongo Ondimba (National Education and Foreign Affairs), has plunged several solidarity circles into turmoil, as the illustrious deceased was able to socialize and bring together people beyond her biological and political families, as well as in her country of origin.
The dismay and emotion are even more striking among the adherents of the feminist movement. “The Call of a Thousand and One” (APU), of which she was still the charismatic Vice-President until her last breath. Within this movement, she was affectionately called VIP 2.
Dr Nicole Assélé, president of the APU, accomplice and confidante of the deceased, witness until the last moments of the life of Yolande Nyonda, in a poignant tribute, made on her Facebook account, of which the editorial staff of Gabonactu.com publishes the entirety, calls for the meditation of all the members of the Movement.
My dear thousand and one
It is with deep sadness that I announce the death of our dear First Vice-President, Yolande Nyonda, which occurred today, July 13, 2024.
His passing leaves an immense void within our movement and in the hearts of those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Yoyo, as she was fondly called, was not only a dedicated and competent colleague, but also a dear friend and sister to many of us.
His commitment, his professionalism and his kindness marked his time among us, and his luminous presence will undeniably be missed by our group.
In these difficult times, our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, loved ones and all those who knew and loved her.
We will keep you informed of details regarding the funeral and any additional steps to honor his memory.
In these moments of mourning, we will support each other to get through this ordeal and pay tribute to the exceptional person that was our Vice-President, Our Yoyo.
His legacy within our movement will live on and inspire us for years to come.
