The vast majority of Moroccans for telework

Some 81.6% of Moroccans consider teleworking as an opportunity to save time and money on transport, according to a survey launched by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) on its “ouchariko.ma” platform. .

Asked about the advantages of teleworking, more than half of the respondents felt that this way of working allowed them to reduce their stress levels, to have more autonomy in the management of tasks as well as better concentration. – it of the results of the survey launched from April 8 to 29, 2022 as part of the development by the ESEC of its focus of the annual report for the year 2021 devoted this year to the theme of teleworking.

At the same time, according to the respondents to the survey, open working hours are considered up to 61% as disadvantages of teleworking, followed by the absence of a separation between professional and private life up to 50%.

Other disadvantages were also noted by the participants in the survey, namely the difficulties of supervision and orientation (26.5%) as well as the feeling of isolation from the work environment (26.2 %).

With regard to participants’ perception of telework, the survey results indicate that nearly 64% of respondents consider it a full-fledged way of working, while 24% perceive it as a temporary option. apply in case of force majeure. Around 12% of total respondents say telecommuting is a way to stay at home. Regarding the practice of teleworking, 74% of survey participants believe they have already experienced teleworking. Among these people, almost 14% claim to have practiced it before the Covid, and more than 71% during confinement against 15% having experienced it after the Covid crisis.

Regarding the equipment needed to perform telework, 64% of respondents believe they needed to invest in equipment to be able to telework. Among these people, 81% consider internet connection as an investment made in relation to telework. The fitting out of a workspace and the purchase of adapted computer equipment are also considered as expenses by the respondents, up to 66% and 55% respectively.

The number of people who interacted with the topic is 27,638, including 1,326 survey participants. The results of the consultation highlight the overall perception of the participants in relation to the practice of teleworking in Morocco, the advantages and disadvantages of teleworking as well as the prospects for the introduction of this mode of work in Morocco.
