The US State Department called on its citizens to leave Lebanon “for those who wish,” due to the tense security situation. She explained in a statement that there are still flights available, but the capacity is declining.
The ministry said: “If you need financial assistance from the United States government to purchase flight tickets to leave Lebanon, or are interested in receiving messages from the US Department of State, please complete this crisis reception form and if you know of American citizens requesting assistance from the US Embassy in Lebanon.” Please ask them to complete the Crisis Reception Form.
It urged American citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon, recommending that they make appropriate arrangements to leave the country. It also recommended that its citizens who chose to remain in Lebanon prepare emergency plans.
