The US House of Representatives approved, by a vote of 420 votes once morest, one deputy, the resolution supported by both the Republican and Democratic parties, which condemns the suppression of protests in Iran and supports the protesters.

“In this resolution, we condemn the gross violation of human rights by the Iranian regime in its suppression of the demonstrators who bravely rose up once morest this terrorist regime to demand their rights,” Claudia Tenney, a Republican member of the US House of Representatives from New York state, told parliament.

It is noteworthy that the “Taawon” institution affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and its senior officials are among the institutions and persons who participate directly or indirectly in human rights violations in Iran.

The United States has imposed sanctions on several senior Iranian leaders, the Taawun Foundation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and the Assistant Minister of Intelligence.

The Republican representative added, “It is necessary that we speak in the US House of Representatives, an institution that is one of the greatest symbols of freedom and democracy around the world, with one voice in support of the brave Iranian people.”

Tiny also said: “Since the killing of Mahsa Amini, 22, in the custody of the Guidance Patrol in September, the Iranian people have taken to the streets to demand justice. Now, four and a half months later (since the protests began), Iranian men, women and children continue to protest once morest this cruel regime. despite the risk to their lives.

She stated that protesters in Iran are risking their lives for a “noble cause”.

This Republican deputy referred to the recent demonstrations in Iran as the “widest and largest protests” once morest the Iranian regime since 1979.

“We want the Iranian people to know that we see them,” said Gregory Meek, an aide to the House Foreign Relations Committee. “We know the danger you’re in and the danger you’re in.”

He added, “Be strong and stay strong because freedom will always triumph over tyranny.”

For his part, a member of the House of Representatives from the US state of New Jersey, Josh Gottheimer, said: Iran is the largest sponsor of state terrorism in the world. We must support the brave Iranian people who are fighting once morest this oppressive regime and its actions that violate human rights.

Michael McCaul, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the US House of Representatives, said: “As the Iranian regime continues to intensify its violent suppression of protests, the United States must do everything in its power to uphold the Iranian people’s right to make their own decisions.”

The approval of this resolution in the US House of Representatives comes while in recent months, the United States and European countries have imposed several sanctions on the Iranian regime due to the suppression of popular protests in the country.

It is noteworthy that following the announcement of the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the “Guidance Patrol” in Tehran, Iranian cities have been the scene of unprecedented nationwide protests since September 17, 2022.

According to human rights sources, at least 520 people have been killed in these protests over the past four months, and nearly 20,000 have been arrested.
