The Department of Homeland Security of the United States published a notice explaining how benefited with TPS they can re-register to retain you and renew their Employment Authorization Documents (EADs).

On its website, the department explained that only TPS holders who were already residing in the United States in March 2021 are eligible to re-register and apply to renew their EADs.

People who re-register must do so in the 60-day period between September 8 and November 7, 2022. Venezuelans who arrived in the United States following March 8, 2021 are not eligible for TPS, the statement highlights.

“Given the timeframes involved in processing TPS re-registration applications, DHS recognizes that not all individuals who re-register may receive new EADs before their current EADs expire on September 9, 2022. The Federal Register notice automatically extends the validity of EADs previously issued under Venezuela’s TPS designation through September 9, 2023,” the Department of Homeland Security text continues.

“It was estimated that approximately 323,000 people were eligible for TPS under Venezuela’s initial designation. There are currently approximately 111,700 beneficiaries under Venezuela’s TPS designation,” he added.

The text concludes by indicating that Venezuelans (and persons without nationality who have habitually resided in Venezuela for the last time) who are eligible for TPS under the existing designation, but have not yet applied for it, must submit their petitions before the deadline. from September 9, 2022.
