The updated system will make it easier for residents to access information about medicines

“The project, during which the VAPRIS system will be improved, will ensure more efficient work of VVKT specialists, better data exchange with other state information systems and international databases. The updated VAPRIS system will enable the proper improvement of the electronic prescription subsystem – to introduce new functions that allow doctors, pharmaceutical specialists and patients to provide information related to the safety of a specific drug, to fill in forms for suspected adverse reactions to drugs and to inform doctors about possible disruptions in the supply of the drug chosen to be prescribed,” – said Anželika Oraitė, Director of the Pharmaceutical Policy Department of SAM.

The system will be more accessible to the population, will facilitate the work of drug registrars and VVKT specialists

According to Stepas Gilis, advisor of the Administration and Resource Management Department of VVKT, after the modernization of the VAPRIS system, residents will have access to more information about the medicines they care about.

After updating the system, the registration of drugs and medicinal preparations will be faster, documents will be easier and faster to be exchanged between drug registrants and VVKT employees. “The created IT tools will speed up the management of documents, it will be possible to monitor the progress of orders, submit or clarify information. In the updated system, the employees of individual departments will be able to create, review and publish reports, the provision, collection and publication of necessary data will be ensured, so the process of monitoring and maintenance of medicinal products will become simpler”, said S. Gilys.

Perhaps the most important update for residents in the VAPRIS system is its adaptation to mobile devices. “Today, we rarely imagine our lives without a smart digital device. Therefore, special attention will be paid to the creation of additional functions used in smart devices. They will make the information system of medicinal products simpler and more accessible to the user, and will allow convenient use of the system on a computer, smartphone or tablet,” said the VVKT specialist.

The project “Increasing the efficiency and quality of the control of the medicinal products market and pharmaceutical activities” is worth more than 3 million. EUR, financed from the funds of the 2021-2027 European Union funds investment program and the “New Generation Lithuania” plan for economic recovery and increasing resilience.
