The design has been refreshed in the spirit of the new Energy Storm corporate style, but in general the changes are evolutionary in nature: all the characteristic features have been preserved. Slightly different bumpers, headlights and taillights appeared: they became narrower and connected by a luminous strip. There are also new door sills, different moldings and wheels.
The three-cylinder 1.5 turbo engine was replaced by a four-cylinder unit of the same volume. It was 150 hp. and 250 Nm, became 147 hp. and 270 Nm. The gearbox is the same – a 7-speed preselective robot with two clutches. The drive, as before, is front-wheel drive only.
There are still three main trim levels – Comfort, Luxury and Flagship – but the top version Flagship Sport with sporty decor like red calipers has disappeared (however, they were added to the Flagship variant). But there was a special Exclusive version with light-alloy two-tone wheels of a special design and an exclusive body color “Purple Mother of Pearl” (pictured).
The composition of the basic configurations has not changed in general, but there are some improvements. For example, if previously all trim levels had a multimedia screen with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, now it is 12.3 inches.
The digital instrument panel has also grown in size from 7 to 10.25 inches. However, there is one strange thing: in the basic version it is monochrome, but previously it was the same in all trim levels – color.
The rich Flagship package now includes an expanded set of driver assistants, including adaptive cruise control, an automatic emergency braking system with the ability to recognize pedestrians, marking control and road sign recognition functions, as well as an intelligent high beam control system, etc.
The pre-restyling Geely Coolray now costs from 2,329,990 rubles, and in addition, this week its twin brother appeared on the market under the name Belgee X50 (as the Belarusian-assembled Coolray is now called). It differs only in emblems and nameplates, but is also cheaper – from 2,235,990 rubles.
The restyled Geely Coolray will definitely be more expensive not only because of the updates, but also due to the fact that it will be delivered to us from China and not from Belarus.
