Modern Warfare 3 players are discovering a strange solution to a known bug that is causing issues unlocking weapon camos.
Many players are reporting issues with a camouflage challenge that requires them to get a certain number of kills in Tactical Position while moving.
The problem is, even if they achieve these kills, the game doesn’t register them for the challenge.
However, some players have reported an unorthodox solution to the problem that doesn’t really make sense.

MW3 players should use a red dot sight to help
When a call for help regarding this bug was posted on Redditthe author was expressing frustration at having 9 kills out of the required 10, and the 10th kill not registering for him.
“I did this walking and sliding regarding 50 times just to be sure. The problem is I’m not making any progress.”

In their cry for help, another user gave them a solution that most players wouldn’t have assumed was the right one: “You need a red dot scope for the tactical position to register properly.”

For some reason this user had found this to be the solution to their problem in MW3.
A red dot sight is not an accessory that should have any effect on the tactical stance at all, as the stance shows the character holding the weapon at an angle, without aiming with the scope. It’s basically a glorified hip-firing position.
But it seems that for some reason this accessory is necessary to unlock the camouflage.
