During the pleading stage in the trial for the crime of Fernando Baez Sosait was reported that the cell phones of Blas Cinalli and Enzo Comelli were kidnapped, from where they made posts on an Instagram account.
This is the profile @rugbiers.zarate, where the defendants answered questions, demanded their freedom, gave opinions regarding the parents of Fernando Báez Sosa and asked their followers to “pray to God and the Virgin”, among other posts.
That account, which was reactivated during the trial and thus discovered, was also managed by the girlfriend of one of the eight detainees, who answered questions, assuring, among other things, that “the fight was started by Fernando Báez Sosa.”
The messages that “Rugbiers Zárate” would have published
– Question: “Fernando also deserved to have fun and live life, don’t you think?”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “Of course, I never said otherwise: at the time, I talked to some of their friends and I understood them, as they also understood me. There was a super respectful conversation on both sides, from the beginning of this account I made the decision to respect his memory and I think that’s what I’m doing in each of the messages where I say (and reiterate) that I hope the violence ends in society”.
– Question: “Why did they laugh?”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “I still don’t understand how anyone believes eight people deprived of their liberty for three years can laugh in the middle of a trial. And, even less, as some supposedly notice, through some chinstraps. In any case, I don’t know if some people know the definition of nerves, in the midst of nerves (SIC) human beings can react in different ways and there are laughs due to nervous situations”.
– Question: “Why did the parents of the accused never have the humility to ask Fer’s parents for forgiveness?”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “It’s not regarding a lack of humility, it’s regarding respect: they declared on several occasions their intention not to have any kind of contact with the boys or their families.”
– Question: “What would be a fair sentence in your opinion?”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “It is difficult to talk regarding a fair sentence, especially if the party involved in a sentence are eight boys whose guarantees and judicial rights were not respected as it corresponds and as everyone should have”.
– Question: “From your personal point of view, what do you think happened for everything to end like this?”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “I think it was a night that got out of control following a lot of alcohol, basically. In any case, also as a society (I include myself, so no one is offended) we see fights outside the nightclubs and we naturalize it as if it didn’t matter. That night, he not only naturalized, but also recorded the fight with violent words and laughter instead of calling the police authorities. By the way, the police authorities should have been at the door of the bowling alley, taking into account both the high season in January, as well as the exaggerated over capacity and the sale of alcohol.
– Question: “Why do you say it was a fight or a fight? That kid didn’t defend himself…”
– “Rugbiers Zárate”: “In fact, according to witnesses (security of the bowling alley) he started the fight by hitting one of the boys. Now, before you tell me anything, I’m just answering your question, I’m not justifying the horrible event that happened, I wish it had never happened and I hope all nine of us (both the boys and him) were all at home with their families right now, but unfortunately This will not be possible and we cannot go back in time”.
