It was by chance that the old geography book came into hand. It looks like my father studied that textbook from 91 years ago. Later, it was stored safely in the back of my bookcase, bound and stored away. He also found a book that his father bought recently.
Its name is Genocide. Genocide itself. That book came out in 1985.
Both of them opened it with great curiosity. The confusion between them will surprise anyone. The common denominator seems to be what my father learned, what I read, what my children see, and what my grandchildren will know.
I was fascinated by a map in South Western lands of Asia, chapter 8 of the third part of the geography book. (p. 247) The author is L. Dudley Stamp BA, DSc (London), FRGS, Reader in Economic Geography, University of London.
The beauty of the map made me read that part of the book.
‘ Only on the borders of the Mediterranean Sea, in Palestine and Syria do we find once more broad stretches of fertile land . Pass your pencil through the names Palestine Syria and Iraq on figure 176 and you will see that the most fertile lands of South Western Asia are arranged as a crescent and so this is often called the ‘fertile Crescent’
The subheading on the next page is Syria and Palestine. When I saw that Syria is governed by France and Palestine by Great Britain, I read the entire lesson. Out of curiosity, I just sifted and looked to see if there was a baby name called Israel somewhere in between. Knowing that there won’t be. When he was shown a 1947 map of Palestine without Israel, the argument of the friend who argued that it was a forgery was probably in the back of his mind, and he was just scrambling for something that was sure not to exist. But that revelation led to something very relevant.
‘Damascus, a very old and famous city is the capital of Syria, and Beirut the chief port, Jerusalem, the holy city alike of Jews and Christians, is the capital of Palestine.’
That the city of Jerusalem, considered a holy city by Jews and Christians alike, is the capital of Palestine!
Those who hesitate to accept the fact that a country called Israel has been settled in this country called Palestine, are among those who admire an integral India that includes Myanmar and Bangladesh. To them Israel is the promised land of the Jews!
Genocide, published in 1985 by Moscow’s Progress Publishers, is an account of the massacres by America, Hitler and other imperialists who fed them, including the stories of the genocide carried out by Israel.
History begins on October 7, 2023 for the racists of our country. Many people who attend the branch and those who do not firmly believe that the attack by Hamas is the cause of everything. This book, which was released 38 years ago, reveals many historical truths that opened their eyes.
‘Genocide’ uncovers the stories of brutal anti-democratic coups and invasions carried out by the United States all over the world. This book quotes a question from Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan in 1956. That is enough, those two sentences are enough to understand what is happening in Palestine!
‘Who are we that we should argue once morest their hatred? For eight years now they sit in their refugee camps in Gaza, and before their very eyes, we turn into our homestead the land and the villages in which they and their forefathers have lived we are a generation of settlers, and without the steel helmet and the cannon we cannot plant a tree and build a home ‘ ( Judaism or Zionism എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തില് നിന്ന് ഉദ്ധരിച്ചത് )
‘They have been living in the refugee camps of Gaza for 8 years, and before their eyes, we are making the land and villages where they and their grandfathers lived, our homes. We are a generation of child abusers. That is why we cannot plant a plant or build a building without a steel helmet and a cannon.’
It means that Moshe Dian knows very well why the Palestinians hate him. These things are not the only thing behind that hatred. No matter how much Israel tries to cover up the sins of the genocide committed in Sabra and Shatila on September 16, 1982, Palestinians and humanitarians will never forget that inhumane act, no matter how many generations pass.
The Israeli army entered the refugee camps in Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon, closing all exits. That too at 4 am. Hundreds of sleeping people were burned to death by quick firing and setting fire to the camps. ‘Hundreds of Israeli soldiers stood and watched at the outskirts of Shatilla camp Israel retaliated by expelling the Washington Post reporter Loren Jenkens from the country who reported that the very next day.
American journalist named Shane Lee Stevens, her husband Dr. In a letter to Franklin Lamp (the same Lamp who wrote Israel’s war in Lebanon), he said that ‘women found murdered in their homes had their legs spread apart. The skirts went up to the waist. Dozens of youths had been shot dead and pushed to the side of the road. The babies had their necks cut. A pregnant woman’s stomach was ripped open. Their eyes were still open. Like silent screams of fear rising from their charred faces. ‘ (Remember any Indian context? It just goes to show that racists are the same everywhere in the world!)
Against the Sabra-Shatila massacre. Naturally, there were huge protests from Israel itself.
When public opinion rose once morest the burning of hundreds of human beings who were sleeping in refugee camps, the Israeli leadership tried to escape by pinning the responsibility on the heads of the Falangists.
(The Kataib Party, a social democratic party founded in Lebanon modeled following the Spanish Falange Party and the Italian Fascist Party, is also called the Falange.) Israel propagated that they were behind the massacre. But it later emerged that Tel Aviv and Washington had the knowledge and consent of that diabolical act.
In the early morning hours of September 15, 1982, Israeli Chief of Staff Raphael Eitan arrived at the advance command post in a five-story building 200 meters from the Shatila camp. As a result, the Israeli army began to attack. Between 8 and 9 o’clock that morning, then Defense Minister Sharon reached there and telephoned Prime Minister Menachembeg to inform him that the operation was progressing smoothly and that there was no resistance.
The Israeli Deputy Defense Minister and the Chief of Army Intelligence were among those present at the command post at the time, according to a 17 September 1983 Pravda newspaper, ‘Genocide’. It is hard to believe that the sudden withdrawal of the US Marines assigned to protect the refugees and the deployment of the Israeli army there is a coincidence.
The Israeli leadership insisted that they might not take responsibility for the massacre committed by the Phalangists without their knowledge. Meanwhile, the report of the Lebanese Committee that investigated the Sabra Shatila massacre comes out.
Elie Ho, head of the Falangist Intelligence Services, testified before the Bika Committee that, Israeli Defense Minister Sharon asked them to organize a massacre in a refugee camp in Lebanon in the first week of July. means
When criticized in the Israeli parliament, General Sharon said, civilians, in particular
Falangists were allowed to enter the camp with the instruction not to touch women, children and the elderly.
When the ministers themselves protested that they were not aware of the move, the Prime Minister replied that even he was not aware of it. But the Minister of Information and Communications Mor Dechai Zipori shocked the Prime Minister and said that he had directly informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs Shamir that such an incident had happened last night! (Sabra and Shatila: The Massacre, page 37)
The New York Times of September 28, 1982 reported that Army Chief General Amir Drori contacted the Defense Minister to inform him that our friends, the Phalangists, were moving into camp and that we were coordinating matters.
Sharon’s reply was, ‘Greetings and a happy operation.
While White House sources are repeatedly saying that they had no role in the massacre, the Israeli cabinet denies it. Minister of Information and Communications Mor Dechaisipori publicly stated, ‘Immadiri has never received any support from America before this’ means This is revealed by quoting Al Hamish Mar newspaper.
In an interview with the German magazine Stern, Sharon, who was the Israeli defense minister, says things openly. ‘For almost a year, since September 1981, I have been discussing the possibility of such an operation with American leaders. He spoke to the then Secretary of State, Alexander Haig, several times.
I have discussed it with Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger during my stay in Washington. I have spoken to American Ambassador Philip Habib regarding this. I warned them. ‘It’s been said don’t pretend you didn’t know when we did it. That statement reveals the essence of things. The then Foreign Minister and then Prime Minister Shamir, in an American radio interview, cites the book Zionism: Truth and fabrications Pg 183, which clarifies things.
Shamir stated in that interview that the attack on Lebanon took place following reaching a full understanding with the United States.
The story of the Israeli invasion does not begin with the Sabra-Shatila attack. The chariot race of blood-soaked terror attacks dates back more than a century.
The book, published 38 years ago, exposes the brutality of the American-assisted occupation of Israel, turning a people into refugees in their own land. The United States planted its eyes on oil fields discovered by exploration in Arab countries and nursed a baby monkey in the middle of them. Israel was fighting once morest America’s hot rice. How many times has America used the veto for that Israel!
When I got hold of those two books that my father studied and read together, I realized something else. The Palestine that was in that book, which came out in 1932, might not become an independent country during my father’s lifetime. In my time, imperialism has crushed the efforts to that end.
The weapons they prepared have shaken all of Palestine. A wounded civilian was being operated on, smoke billowing as if his lungs were on fire.
That is the specialty of phosphorus bombs. It goes inside and smokes and burns. The brutal Immadiri bombardment and missiles have scorched the green of my father’s geography textbook.
The concept of free Palestine that did not happen in my father’s time, let it go in my time, let it go in the time of my son, will it happen in the time of my grandchildren? Will a free Palestine be born?
