The National University of Río Negro will elect its next authorities on May 4 and 5. During these two days there will be the fourth elections in the history of the institution, created in 2007.
The next university government will emerge from a process of direct, compulsory, secret, simultaneous and formula elections.
Through Rectoral Resolution No. 066/2023, the rector of the UNRN, Anselmo Torres, began the process, which will culminate in the appointment of the members of the single-person bodies (rector and vice-rectors) and collegiate (Superior Councils and Headquarters Councils).
Elections will be held at four locations: Rector’s Office, Atlantic Headquarters, Alto Valle-Valle Medio Headquarters and Andean Headquarters.
According to the details reported by the university, the schedule opened this Monday with the publication of the call, in addition to the exhibition of the provisional registers.
The closure of these lists is scheduled for the March 31stopening the period of challenges in the provisional registers: until April 4 at 12.
The exhibition of the final standards will be on April 5 and The presentation of lists will be accepted until April 14, until 12.
That same day the proxies must be accredited and the ballot models must be presented.
While, from April 14 to 19 the exhibition of lists will be held and the expiration of the term for the challenge of lists will be fulfilled on April 24.
One day later, the officialization of lists and ballot models is expected, from there to the electoral act of May 4 and 5.
After the Provisional Scrutiny of May 5, the Definitive Scrutiny will be held on the 16thgoing on to the proclamation of elected authorities on May 16.
“The cloisters of the University participate actively, democratically and fully in the formation of the government of the UNRN, and exercise it through their representatives in the University Assembly, the Superior Councils and the Councils of the different venues that make up the house of studies ”, they highlighted from the institution.
