The Unreal Engine creation contest “22nd UE5 Petit Contest” is now accepting submissions! The theme is “Amusement Park” | Press release from Historia Co., Ltd.

Historia Inc., a game development company specializing in Unreal Engine (UE), has announced the theme for the 22nd UE5 Petit Contest, a mini-contest designed for learning UE. The theme is “Amusement Park,” and submissions are now open. Entries will be accepted from Friday, July 19, 2024, to Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Furthermore, a side event, the UE5 Petit Con Game Jam, will be held over two days from Saturday, August 3rd to Sunday, August 4th, 2024.

■What is UE5 PetitCon?

UE5 Petitcon is a contest designed for learning Unreal Engine. Participants are tasked with creating and submitting games using UE. This event offers a chance for those unfamiliar with UE to explore and learn its capabilities. “You can create a game quickly in 2-3 days and submit it promptly.” The competition is held periodically, encouraging participants to express their creativity and create unique works. Throughout the 26 events, including special editions, over 4,000 submissions have been received.

A new theme is announced on the first day of each event, challenging participants to create a project within a short timeframe (approximately one and a half months). Anyone, from professionals to amateurs, can participate individually or in teams. All participants will receive an original Petit Con participation prize themed to the event.

The theme of this Petitcon is “Amusement Park.” Participants are encouraged to create and submit works inspired by their favorite amusement park, including attractions like Ferris wheels, roller coasters, coffee cups, haunted houses, and popcorn stands.

“22nd UE5 Petitcon Game Jam” Event Overview

The Unreal Engine creation contest “22nd UE5 Petit Contest” is now accepting submissions! The theme is “Amusement Park” | Press release from Historia Co., Ltd.

This is an offline event where participants can form teams and work together for two days to create a game for submission to Petitcon. It’s an opportunity for individuals who are interested in game development with UE5, but feel overwhelmed by the prospect of working alone, to learn, connect with like-minded individuals, and create games together. Participants can attend whether it is their first contest or a regular experience.

Participants will be asked to create a game using UE5 over two days, Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th. (Total production time: approximately 12 hours)

Teams will be formed from the members who gather, and they will collaborate to complete the project!

On the second day (August 4th) from 17:00, participants will present the games they have created in front of everyone and submit them for entry in the 22nd UE5 Petitcon.

The game jam hosted by Historia will be held in Tokyo, but similar events will also be taking place in Osaka, Nagoya, and Kagoshima!
