Russia should not have a position of authority in that body, nor should we allow Russia to use its seat on the Council as a tool of propaganda to suggest they have a legitimate concern regarding human rights.

She addressed the 140 countries that have “already voted to condemn” the Russian invasion of Ukraine: “The images of Boutcha and the devastation across Ukraine now compel us to walk the talk.”
“In close coordination with Ukraine and other member states and partners at the UN, the United States will work to suspend Russia from the UN Human Rights Council”added the diplomat, currently on a visit to Romania.
