The United States is suffering but will play the final against France in men’s basketball

The United States, the big favourite, struggled to beat Serbia (95-91) but will play in the final of the men’s Olympic basketball tournament at the Paris 2024 Games, where they will face France, next Saturday, again at the Arena Bercy.

The United States trailed for most of the game and did not turn it around until the end of the fourth quarter, when they started with a 13-point deficit (63-76); but they imposed their law and will face France, repeating the final of the past Tokyo.

Serbia was one step away

Serbia came close to becoming the first team to beat the United States in the knockout stages of such an event in 20 years, after Argentina achieved the feat in Athens 2004.

Now, after a painful defeat, the Balkan team will have to settle for playing the match for bronze against Germany, who also saw their golden dream frustrated when they lost against France, which prevented the German team from having a chance to seek an unprecedented double because they are the current world champions.
