The Athletic Union of Glaukos Esperou prevailed 66-61 over Argonautis of Nea Kios and remains alive in the hunt for a place in the privileged top 6 that leads to the playoffs. The Union is now tied with its next three opponents at 5-8 with a 10-9 record with three games left in the 1u Group of the National League 2 and is preparing for two difficult away games in Gargalianos and Panachaiki and once morest Asteras Temenis at home.
However, the Union’s victory was overshadowed by the sad news that had become known early on, with the death of the little grandson of Theodoros Skondras (he is the club’s treasurer, while he was also president of Glaukos in the past).

In today’s game with Argonauts, both teams came into the game strong (14-13 in 7′), but the hosts with a burst led +7 (20-13) in 9′ and +11 (26-15 ) at 12′, managing to open up the pace, finding good shots from afar.
The Patras team seemed to be in control of the game (32-17 at 15′ and 36-23 at 17′), but a “dead” period followingwards allowed the visitors with a 10-1 run to reduce the score to 4 (37- 33) with a three-pointer at the end of the first half.
The team of Nikos Vournas entered determined not to give rights to the replay, did not concede a point in the first five minutes and with an 11-0 run increased the difference to +15 (48-33) in the 25th minute. The home team maintained a stable lead of around 10 points following the third 10 minutes (50-37 at 27′ and 57-48 at 30′), despite their big shooting mistakes.
Both teams were nervous in the last period and scored hard (61-50 in the 33′, 63-52 in the 35′ and 65-57 in the 37′). The team from Patras failed to keep the +9 to cover the difference of the first round and was in danger at the end, as Argonautis reduced to 4 (65-61 in the 39′) and missed a three-pointer in the last minute, but without , to change something essential with the pink card ending up in the hands of the home team with 66-61.
