The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia launches the start of the family planning and reproductive health campaign “Your Right to Organize” in the second phase

Dr. Khaled Gamal Abdel Ghani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia, this morning, Sunday 18/9/2022, launched the start of the activities of the second phase of the promotional campaign to provide family planning and reproductive health services “Your Right to Organize” in Menoufia Governorate, at the health center in Shebin El-Koum Center and City.

This came according to the directives of Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Hossam Abbas, Head of the Population and Family Planning Sector at the Ministry, within the framework of the Ministry of Health and Population’s interest in the population issue, improving population characteristics and contributing to the quality of healthy life for the Egyptian family within the National Family Development Project.

During the inauguration of the activities of the second phase of the campaign, the Undersecretary of Menoufia Health was accompanied by Dr. Rasha Khader, Deputy Director of the Directorate, in the presence of Dr. Amal Al-Arabi, Director of the Family Planning Department in the Directorate, Dr. Nancy Nair, central supervision at the Ministry, and in the presence of Dr. Jihan El-Shazly, Director of Health Administration in Shebin El-Kom, and Dr. Rania Al-Jazzar, Director of the Center Shebin El-Kom Health Department, the family planning team in the Directorate and the Shebin El-Kom Health Administration.

The Menoufia Health Undersecretary stated that the second phase of the revitalization campaign will last for 5 days, during the period from 18 to 22 September 2022, as the second phase includes 5 health departments in the governorate (Shebin El-Koum, Ashmoun, Birkat El-Sabaa, Quesna, Sadat).

It is worth noting that the Menoufia Health Undersecretary may inspect the work of the fixed medical teams in the campaign, the awareness seminars for women, and the health advice provided to them, stressing the need to provide full psychological and moral support to all who frequent the campaign while adhering to infection control standards in dealing with beneficiaries in addition to the availability of media material necessary for awareness.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Menoufia also explained that the campaign includes family planning services, and reproductive health services, including pregnancy follow-up, ultrasound examination, and obstetrics and gynecological examinations. It is one of the most important components of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family and facing population growth to achieve the goals of sustainable development in the light of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

“Abdul-Ghani” reported that family planning services were provided to more than 28,000 beneficiaries over 5 days during the first phase of the campaign, which took place during the past week from 9/11/2022 to 9/15/2022 in the departments (Menouf, Sars Al-Layan). Al-Bajaur, Al-Shuhada, read out).

In the same context, Dr. Rasha Khader, Undersecretary of the Directorate, explained that the campaign aims to provide these services free of charge to all targeted women, through fixed family planning clinics in units, medical centers and hospitals supported by specialist service, as well as mobile medical clinics to ensure that the service reaches remote and slum areas in hamlets and villages throughout The governorate, with the participation of qualified medical teams from doctors, nurses and rural pioneers, emphasizing the media role, and the role of rural pioneers in implementing awareness and educational seminars, on the importance of family planning and the available means and the risks of marriage and early and repeated childbearing, in addition to intensifying the necessary indicative propaganda for citizens, in the places and dates of the campaign throughout the province.
