Saudi Arabia – A press report revealed that the Saudi Jeddah Football Club will take a decisive step next week in light of the ambiguity of the future of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah with Liverpool.
Salah’s name was linked to moving to the ranks of the Jeddah club last summer, in a huge deal, but German Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s coach, clung to his Egyptian star.
Speculation has returned over the past weeks regarding the possibility of completing the deal next summer, especially since Al-Ittihad Club is actively searching for high-caliber stars to compensate for its lackluster season, in addition to Salah’s crisis with his coach Jurgen Klopp.
Reliable Italian journalist Rudi Galetti said, on the Saudi Al-Arabiya channel on Tuesday, that Salah is Al-Ittihad’s first choice in the transfer market, but negotiations are proceeding at a slow pace, and therefore the club has turned to another option, which is South Korean Heung-Min Son, the star of Tottenham Hotspur.
He added: “Until now, there is no official contact between Al-Ittihad and Son, yet the player remains a real target on the club’s table.”
The journalist continued, “Al-Ittihad is scheduled to begin contacting Son next week, to inquire regarding his position on moving to the Saudi League in the new season.”
Regarding Salah’s position, Galetti explained that Salah would first like to talk to Arnie Slot, the potential coach of Liverpool, before deciding his future.
He pointed out that Salah has not yet made a final decision regarding his future, and things will become clearer following his meeting with the new coach.
