The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), based in Ramallah, West Bank, said the killings were suspected to have taken place this week in the Rimal district of Gaza City.
On Wednesday, the office said it had received “alarming information that the Israel Defense Forces (Israeli army) have extrajudicially executed at least 11 unarmed Palestinian men.”
The incident raises concerns about a possible war crime, the report said, adding that the men were killed in front of their family members.
The report added that the soldiers ordered the women and children into the room “and either shot at them or threw a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including an infant and a child.”
An Israeli official dismissed the claims as “nothing more than a blood libel”.
“The latest claims are yet another example of the biased and prejudicial attitude towards Israel that OHCHR has maintained for years,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The Israeli military had no comment.
According to the OHCHR, Israeli soldiers have been accused of deliberately targeting and killing civilians in the past.
The war between Israel and Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, began after the Islamist group attacked Israel on October 7, killing about 1,140 people, according to Israeli officials.
According to the Hamas government, at least 20,000 people were killed in the Israeli counter-offensive in the Gaza Strip. people, most of them children and women.
