The UM5 in Rabat has an ICESCO “Open Education” chair

The Mohammed V University (UM5) in Rabat has just set up an ICESCO “Open Education” chair for the benefit of its teachers and doctoral students-researchers, to ensure equitable access to inclusive and quality education.

The Chair, created under an agreement signed Wednesday in Rabat by the Director General of ICESCO, Salim M. Al-Malik, and the interim President of UM5 in Rabat, Farid El Bacha, aims to promote teaching practices of teachers and doctoral students-researchers so that open educational resources (OER) are integrated into classroom practices, including schools.

It also tends to increase the use of open education resources and tools with particular emphasis on OER for the benefit of target groups and to raise awareness, at local, regional and national levels, of the use and practices of open education. open education and OER and the integration of innovative methodologies in this area through the diversity of school and university education design typology.

It is also a question of associating doctoral students with the world of open education and OER, of developing their learning paths and scientific research, including for mobility actions and of introducing changes in the practices of teachers and doctoral researchers relating to the publication of their own tools and resources, in addition to the strengthening of collaborations with a certain number of international institutions.

This ceremony, held at the UM5 headquarters in Rabat, took place in the presence of eminent academic personalities and Moroccan and foreign experts.
