A Digital Foundry specialist reviewed the Xbox Series version of Mortal Kombat 1 available during the stress test and shared his impressions. We collected the most important thing (spoiler: everything is very good): Unreal Engine 4 instead of UE 5; fast and smooth transitions between menus and gameplay; on Series X, the fighting game produces native 4K, but sometimes the resolution may decrease; on Series S: cutscenes and animations before fights in 1440p, during the fights the resolution drops to 1080p; everywhere: cinematics, fatalities, game replays and other such things are limited to 30 FPS. Gameplay – stable 60 FPS; the characters are striking in their detail; excellent quality bloody and other effects; animations are still on par with Mortal Kombat 11 (more or less); saved pixel blur in motion; objects in the background, the quality of materials and lighting in MK1 look much better than in MK11. Mortal Kombat 1 releases September 19 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. Recall that the game will have Quitality to punish unscrupulous players, and here you can watch fresh gameplay with exciting fights.
