It is now a tradition at Skoda, each restyling of its best-seller Octavia is a very visible operation. This fourth generation of the modern era, since 1996, because the Octavia was already in the catalog in the range from 1959 to 1971, is no exception to the rule.
This phase 2 of the Octavia Mk4 is characterized by headlights with complex contours. A favorite that the designers of the Czech brand have already used on the old generation in 2017 with split optics evoking those of an old Mercedes E-Class.

For the 2024 Octavia, the central headlights, equipped with new generation Matrix LED technology, are inserted into the grille while the redesigned shield visually widens the bow of the car. At the rear, the texture of the lights also changes while the brand’s new logo is affixed to the trunk. A series of design sketches made official last week put us on the path.
New engines
Just like its cousins from the Volkswagen group, the Skoda Octavia adopts new mechanics which give pride of place to electrification. Starting with the 1.5 TSI micro hybridized engine. The latter is available in 116 and 150 hp versions. It replaces both the 110 hp 1.0 TSI three-cylinder engine and the 150 hp 1.5 TSI ACT four-cylinder engine. A block which is widespread in the group, the Volkswagen Golf, Passat and Tiguan bear witness to this.

Above, a 2.0 TSI block is available in a 204 hp version, associated with all-wheel drive, which may not be on the program for the French market, and 265 hp for the RS version which gains 20 hp like the Golf 8 GTI restyled.
In diesel, the restyled Skoda Octavia relies on the proven 2.0 TDI block offered in 116 and 150 hp. The entry-level engines are mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and the rest of the range benefits from the 7-speed DSG transmission.
And unlike the Volkswagen Golf from which it derives, the Skoda Octavia ignores plug-in hybridization which is not in phase with its audience.

On board, a 10-inch screen is fitted to entry-level models, then a 13-inch screen on the most upscale Octavias. The range is structured around three finishing levels called Selection, Sportline and RS. The first can be associated with five interior ambiances (Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suite Noir and Suite Cognac).
The core Sportline range can only be associated with the eponymous ambiance. Finally, the RS finish leaves the choice between an RS and RS Lounge atmosphere. The brand announces the arrival of ChatGPT in series before the end of the year in the Octavia range. It is integrated with the Laura voice assistant.
