“It was Saint Nicholas and Christmas at the same time,” Xavier Molenaar tells RTBF. In front of him in the hangar were in fact stored 22 vintage cars: 14 Ferraris and 8 Porsches, dating from 1975 to 1997. And in impeccable condition, which adds value to the collection. But what surprised Xavier Molenaar was also the models collected over time by the person who contacted him. Among our colleagues, he describes having notably discovered a blue Ferrari Testarossa (rare due to its color, most of the other models being red), a Porsche 911 S (which was used in a robbery in Italy, for the record) and a bright yellow Ferrari 365 GT BB, produced in a dozen examples in this color and estimated at at least 650,000 euros (in its current condition). Kept on the first floor of a warehouse, under protective covers, the cars have not suffered from humidity and their condition is close to that when it left the factory.
Discovery of a breathtaking collection of vintage cars: who owns this unique find?
”This is a truly exceptional collection […] Owners of similar cars usually sell their old models before buying new ones. The fact that twenty-two of them were discovered in the same place is unprecedented in our country,” explains Xavier Molenaar to the VRT, who was immersed in the world of classic cars from his earliest childhood.
Although his company discovered the collection in question last year, it has only just installed them in its showroom in Aalter. Collector car enthusiasts can now admire these 22 automotive jewels.
